More than 80 firefighters are battling a gigantic chemical factory blaze that’s spreading huge black clouds of smoke across Melbourne’s northern suburbs.
Thirty employees escaped the blaze before firefighters arrived in the Thornycroft St factory.
The inferno was updated to a watch and act, with anybody in Broadmeadows, Pascoe Vale and Coburg advised to take refuge inside immediately.
The Environment Protection Authority Victoria suspended the license of a waste storage and disposal company in exactly the exact same street as the fire two weeks ago.
On March 13, EPA officers inspected the Bradbury Industrial Services website and discovered more waste than permitted was being saved and containers weren’t being properly labeled.
